<p>Description</p> <p>We are seeking a versatile Heavy Equipment Operator / Laborer to join our team. This position is responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other site-specific vehicles, while also performing general manual labor tasks. You will play a key role in ensuring that equipment is operated safely and efficiently to support tasks like moving materials, grading, and excavation.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Operate heavy machinery such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, and other heavy equipment is a plus. </li><li>Perform general labor duties including landscaping, material handling, digging, loading/unloading materials, and clearing debris on industrial or construction sites. </li><li>Assist with site preparation activities, including grading, excavation, and moving materials. </li><li>Ensure equipment is maintained in safe working condition and address any potential issues with machinery or materials promptly. </li><li>Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure the successful completion of projects. </li><li>Switch between equipment operation and manual labor duties depending on site needs. </li><li>Follow all safety guidelines and industry regulations to maintain a safe work environment. </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience, Licensing</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education and Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>The job requires a combination of education and/or experience equivalent to high school graduation or a GED.</p> </li><li> <p>Additionally, candidates should have one year of hands-on construction, pipe laying/trenching, landscaping, concrete work, heavy equipment experience, or closely related experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Driver's License:</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Learner's Permit (required for employment).</p> </li><li> <p>Obtain a Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License within six months of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Safety-Sensitive Position:</p> </li><li> <p>This role is safety-sensitive, meaning it is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as per DOT regulations (49 CFR-Parts 40 and/or 382).</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Florida Class "A" Commercial Driver's License.</p> </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge of construction processes and material handling. </li><li>Familiarity with safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve equipment or material issues. </li><li>Ability to perform physical labor and work in varying environmental conditions. </li><li>Previous experience operating heavy machinery and performing construction-related tasks is preferred. </li><li>The work days and hoursfor this position are Monday - Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. OR Tuesday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. </li></ul>
