In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.</p> <p>What you will be doing</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct coverage analysis to determine billing responsibility (research versus standard of care) in compliance with institutional policies and federal regulations. </li><li>Develop detailed budgets for grant and sponsor proposals in accordance with sponsor and institutional guidelines. </li><li>Advise PIs on budgeting strategies, allowable costs, and sponsor-specific limitations. </li><li>Prepare budget justifications and assist with completing sponsor budget forms and internal routing documentation. </li><li>Interpret and apply sponsor guidelines, funding opportunity announcements (FOAs), and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIH, DoD, private foundations). </li><li>Translate and adapt sponsor- or grant-provided budgets into standardized institutional budget templates for internal us. </li><li>Coordinate with institutional offices (e.g., Sponsored Programs, Legal, Compliance) to ensure timely and compliant proposal submissions. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between PIs and administrative units to gather required proposal components. </li><li>Review draft proposals for financial accuracy and consistency prior to submission. </li><li>Track submission timelines and ensure adherence to internal and external deadlines. </li><li>Provide training and guidance to faculty and staff on budget development and pre-award processes. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (required). </li><li>2-5 years of experience in pre-award research administration or financial proposal development. </li><li>Experience in a university, academic medical center, or nonprofit research setting preferred. • Familiarity with federal regulations (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance) and major sponsor guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Non-Discrimination Policy</p> <p>Hospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
