Job Opportunity: Technology Support Specialist BBRSD is seeking a Technology Support Specialist, this position is designed to provide support to the entire BBRSD, this includes 3 schools and Central Office Essential Duties & Responsibilities</p> <p>Job tasks subject to change through guidance of the Director of Technology 1. Provides Level 1 Support to end users; 2. Configures, installs, and maintains personal computers, tablets, system software, software applications, printers, scanners, projectors, etc.; 3. Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems. Makes repairs and corrections where required; 4. Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data; staffs a centralized help desk to facilitate exchange of information and advice; implements solutions or notifies level 2 support as required; 5. Makes hardware and software acquisition recommendations including helping users assess needs and providing justification for equipment and services; 6. Maintains constant communication with Lead IT Technician; 7.Assists with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems; maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary; 8.Maintains working knowledge of recent and updated technologies through additional training and IT certifications; 9. Possesses the ability to communicate effectively and positively both orally and in writing with teachers, administrators and other staff; 10. Other duties as assigned by the Lead IT Technician, Systems Engineer or other appropriate administrator; 11. Install computer systems throughout the district as needed 12. Arrange for and/or perform repair on computer systems as needed 13. Develop, test, and deploy new operating system images and software installation packages utilizing imaging software 14. Oversee computer labs within assigned buildings 15. Train teachers on the technical and procedural use of their computer systems and software 16. Provide primary tech support for all Principals, Directors, and staff within assigned buildings 17. Direct responsibility for implementing and managing new client/server applications 18. Provide backup support for other computer Systems Specialists 19. Assist the Technology Coordinator in planning new technology purchases 20. Contribute to the Technology Department's procedural documentation library and inventory database 21. Maintain appropriate records, databases, passwords, configurations, and vendor contacts as needed to perform the above listed tasks 22. Other duties as assigned by the Technology Coordinator 23. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs and/or ladders, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run. Able to provide own transportation between buildings as needed. 24. Have proof of knowledge or demonstrate knowledge on the following District owned technology related applications/resources: 25. This position may require to the employee to lift, carry, move items that weigh up to 25 lbs. 26. This position requires the employee to travel between different buildings throughout the work week and may require candidate to travel between buildings on the same day.
