For more information, visit corporate.carrier.com or follow Carrier on social media at @Carrier.</p> <p>About this role</p> <p>The HVAC Controls Specialist serves as a technical expert providing comprehensive field support for Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) and Ductless systems with a strong emphasis on building automation integration and controls technology. This role combines deep HVAC controls knowledge with specialized VRF/Ductless expertise to support customers across the Eastern United States and nationally as needed.</p> <p>The HVAC Controls Specialist is responsible for advanced technical support, training, and problem resolution for both internal (Carrier) and external (distributor, contractor, and end-user) customers, with particular focus on controls integration, building automation systems, and communication protocols.</p> <p>This is an opportunity for candidates living in Eastern United States, particularly the following states: ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, NY, PA, MD, VA, WV.</p> <p>We are also open to accept candidate for the Midwest region.</p> <p>Willingness to travel frequently (50%) with occasional short-notice requirements. Plus, we'll support your growth with paid-for external training programs and courses.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Technical Support & Controls Integration</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide expert-level troubleshooting assistance for VRF/Ductless controls systems via phone, electronic communication, and on-site visits</p> </li><li> <p>Support complex building automation integration projects involving BACnet, Modbus, and other industry-standard communication protocols</p> </li><li> <p>Assist customers with controls programming, system commissioning, and building automation platform integration</p> </li><li> <p>Work with Direct Sales, Independent Distribution customers, and Carrier Commercial Service offices to resolve technical challenges</p> </li></ul> <p>Training & Development (Conduct comprehensive multi-day technical training programs focusing on)</p> <ul> <li> <p>VRF/Ductless system controls and integration</p> </li><li> <p>Building automation system connectivity</p> </li><li> <p>Communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>System commissioning and troubleshooting methodologies</p> </li><li> <p>Develop advanced training materials for technical meetings and distributor/dealer events</p> </li><li> <p>Create controls-focused educational content for various customer segments</p> </li></ul> <p>Project Support & Implementation</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide on-site project assistance for complex installations, system integration, and startup procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize advanced system software and building automation platforms for commissioning and troubleshooting</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to enhance controls offerings and integration capabilities</p> </li><li> <p>Support warranty claim resolution and technical dispute negotiation</p> </li></ul> <p>Quality & Process Improvement</p> <ul> <li> <p>Track and analyze technical issues to identify product improvement opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Support corporate initiatives including quality programs and The Carrier Way</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain detailed reporting on technical support activities and customer feedback</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>4+ years of field experience in VRF and Ductless equipment service, VRF Controls integration, or building automation integration and/or programming</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to travel up to 50%</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with VRF and Ductless equipment service and controls</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with warranty systems and quality improvement processes</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with major building automation platforms (i-Vu, ALC WebCTRL, and others)</p> </li><li> <p>Expertise in building automation systems integration and programming</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of communication protocols i.e., BACnet, Modbus, and other industry standards</p> </li><li> <p>Comprehensive understanding of commercial HVAC systems and controls architecture</p> </li><li> <p>Conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments</p> </li><li> <p>Track record of technical presentations and training delivery</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)</p> </li><li> <p>English written and verbal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in various customer environments and adapt to changing priorities</p> </li></ul> <p>RSRCAR</p> <p>#LI-Remote</p> <p>Pay Range:</p> <p>$90,263 - $157,959 Annually</p> <p>Carrier is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
