<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As a Pharmacy Technician, you are responsible for packaging, labeling, and distributing medications, drugs and pharmacy supplies to the Institution units. You will also assist with inventory recordkeeping, storage of supplies and general maintenance of pharmacy area.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Pay for the position is $19.92 per hour or the minimum at the time of appointment, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.</p> <p>Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Pharmacy Technician - Objective and is in pay schedule and range 06/11.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI, or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.</p> <p>This position has physical requirements which may include, but are not limited to, lifting 25 pounds, standing, sitting, kneeling, and stooping. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum qualifications include all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Registration or eligibility to obtain registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) by the time of appointment. Eligible is defined as either: Applicant is at least 18 years of age and has graduated from high school or has attained high school graduation equivalency as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) or The applicant is enrolled in a youth apprenticeship program for pharmacy technicians that is on the list of youth apprenticeship programs approved by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) under Wis. Stat. § 106.13(2m). </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with inventory management and placing medication orders. </li><li>Experience preparing cassettes for medication distribution. </li><li>Experience working in a psychiatric setting, hospital, or healthcare setting. </li></ul> <p>For a guide on developing your resume and what should be included, click here.</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Applying is easy!
