<p>Position: Assistant Wrestling Coach</p> <p>Department: Athletics</p> <p>Status: Full Time</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Assistant Wrestling Coach will assist the Head Wrestling Coach in all aspects of this NCAA Division I Wrestling program with an emphasis on the effective recruitment of student athletes across the country, and management of all home events/dual meets. S/he must have a proven record of success in recruitment and coaching at the collegiate level, and be able to adhere to all university, Southern Conference, and NCAA regulations. This is a full time, twelve-month position.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Support and assist the head coach with recruiting, administration, and instruction within Campbell University's wrestling program. </li><li>Effectively recruit athletes from around the nation who can be successful within the team system developed by the head coach; maintain recruiting logs to ensure compliance. </li><li>Assist the Head Coach with long term and short term roster planning, anticipate weight class and position needs for future lineups. </li><li>Design and execute recruitment strategies that align with current roster size, program needs and recruiting budget. </li><li>Coordinate campus visitations for potential student athletes. </li><li>Coordinate and manage all home events/dual meets. </li><li>Analyze match videos; help formulate training strategies; and instruct student- athletes on the techniques of wrestling. </li><li>Assist in promoting, organizing and running camps. </li><li>Help with fundraising efforts implemented to improve the wrestling program and athletic department. </li><li>Communicate and at times, work closely with other departments on campus such as academic advising, residence life, admissions, sports information, campus recreation, compliance, </li></ul> <p>athletic training, and strength and conditioning.</p> <ul> <li>Help monitor the academic progress of student-athletes. </li><li>Motivate and inspire student-athletes to excel in the classroom and on the mat. </li><li>Exemplify the goals, values and objectives of Campbell University's Wrestling program. </li><li>Uphold and abide by all Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, HIPAA and FERPA guidelines. </li><li>Other job related duties and activities may change or be assigned by the Head Wrestling Coach or the Director of Athletics, at any time, with or without notice. </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required </li><li>Minimum of 2 years college coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level desired </li><li>Demonstrated success recruiting within a collegiate wrestling program </li><li>Experience competing as a NCAA Division I wrestling athlete desired </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to teach wrestling at a high level all within a professional setting </li><li>Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels </li><li>Maintain strict confidentiality </li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Applications, the internet, and social media </li><li>Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with athletes, coaches, officials, trainers, university faculty, staff, administration and the general public </li><li>Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people </li><li>Exercise independent judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holiday breaks </li><li>Ability to travel, including overnight stays </li><li>Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work in a changing environment </li><li>This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University </li></ul>
