<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Supervises, observes and maintains a safe teaching environment while instructing participants in the swim lesson program.</p> <p>SEASONAL POSITION:</p> <p>Season starting 06/02/2025 - ending date 07/21/2025</p> <p>LOCATION:Colorado State University Pueblo, Sam Jones Aquatic Center, Massari Building, 2200 Bonforte Blvd, Pueblo, CO 81001</p> <p>THIS POSTING WILL CLOSE JUNE 22ND OR AT THE AMOUNT OF QUALIFIED APPLICANTS</p> <p>What You Will Do</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates proper swimming skills. </li><li>Complies with lesson plans. </li><li>Supervises classes through skill practice. </li><li>Organizes skill practice to enhance skill learning. </li><li>Uses proper guarding skills and procedures. </li><li>Performs emergency procedures when necessary. </li><li>Provides constant attention to assigned guarding areas. </li><li>Uses safe work practices while on the job, including following proper and established procedure in the use of equipment and wearing appropriate and/or required safety and personal protective gear. </li><li>Works as part of a team, attending training, orientation and/or staff meetings as necessary. </li><li>Enforces program, facility and department rules and regulations; maintains safety, order and discipline of participants and/or customers. </li><li>Performs customer relations role which includes interacting with parents, participants, business or program partners and/or staff to provide information and solve problems, as needed. </li><li>Sets up and puts away equipment as needed. </li><li>Assists in scheduling, training and monitoring performance of instructors/lifeguards. </li><li>Assists with identifying and projecting necessary instructor/lifeguard coverage. </li><li>Assists in monitoring pool staff and with identifying deficiencies in performance.
