<p>Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Clayton, MO.</p> <p>Summary: This position applies advanced accounting knowledge to manage accounting areas, lead components of the close process, and support financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies. The Senior Accountant partners cross functionally, supports audits, and contributes to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of a global public company with approximately $4 billion in annual sales.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead and execute assigned aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial results; Includes but not limited to journal entry preparation, review, and posting and preparation of supporting schedules to share cross functionally </li><li>Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses; proactively identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies </li><li>Partner with FP&A, Operations, and other cross functional teams to support business activities and resolve accounting matters </li><li>Support internal and external audits by preparing audit documentation, responding to inquiries, and explaining accounting conclusions </li><li>Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency; Support system enhancements and automation initiatives </li><li>Assist with the interpretation and application of accounting policies and procedures </li><li>Provide guidance and informal mentoring to Staff Accountants as appropriate* Bachelor's degree </li><li>Minimum of 4-6 years of experience </li><li>Demonstrated experience working in a SOX-compliant environment is essential </li><li>Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments </li><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle EPM/FCCS, Blackline, or similar) preferred </li><li>Adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment </li><li>Passion for leveraging data and technology pragmatically and at scale </li><li>Entrepreneurial mindset, balancing innovation with a results-oriented approach </li><li>CPA designation or progress toward CPA is preferred </li><li>Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound accounting judgment </li><li>High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, particularly during close </li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting matters to non accounting stakeholders. </li><li>Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and continuous learning </li></ul>
