With ten healthcare centers and eight Women, Infants, and Children nutrition program locations throughout Indiana, we offer primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare services to community-based patient populations that are diverse in age, educational background, and income level.</p> <p>Meet our Peru Team: https://indianahealthonline.org/locations/peru/</p> <p>Hours of Operation:</p> <p>Monday - 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM</p> <p>Tuesday - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM</p> <p>Wednesday - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM</p> <p>Thursday - 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM</p> <p>Friday - 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM</p> <p>Saturday - Closed</p> <p>Sunday - Closed</p> <p>IHC's Compensation and Benefits Package includes, but is not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>$2000.00 retention bonus paid after one year </li><li>403(b) retirement plan employer match </li><li>Day 1 eligibility - Health, life, dental, and vision insurance </li><li>Generous PTO </li><li>Employee Referral Bonus Program </li><li>Tuition reimbursement </li></ul> <p>Medical Assistant Job Overview:</p> <ul> <li>Functions as a support person for the patient; assists the patient to the examination room, gives information to the patient, and collects information for the provider </li><li>Obtains vital signs and other pertinent physical data </li><li>Completes and updates the medical history of the patient </li><li>Check the health care plan appropriate for the patient's age </li><li>Assists the doctor with examinations, minor surgeries, performs EKGs, hearing and vision testing, and nebulizer treatments </li><li>Performs venipunctures and gives immunizations </li><li>Performs HCT/HGBs, hematocrit, blood sugars, urine dipsticks, pregnancy tests, lead screens, strep tests, etc. </li><li>Prepares and sends out laboratory, pap, lead screens, and STD for testing </li><li>Keeps logs and paperwork associated with the above tests and procedures current </li><li>Records laboratory tests and processes laboratory test results </li><li>Follows up on TB and Immunizations </li><li>Updates EMR with test results and checks results against the lab test log. </li><li>Completes medical and laboratory supply inventories for all exam rooms and labs </li><li>Sterilizes instruments </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Proof of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program </li><li>Proof of current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AED included) </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Medical Assistant </li><li>Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employment Statement</p> <p>We are an equal opportunity employer.
