<p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The responsibilities of a Student Progress Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <p>(1) Serve as a resource for information regarding student progress to credential and student success. Identify opportunities to support student success and to inform the development of strategies and best practices. Facilitate the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of student engagement with the Office of the University Registrar and methods for improvement. Support the systems of refining student progress and completion efforts, evaluating performance data, and interpreting attrition information. Maintain queries and reports related to student progress and completion.</p> <p>(2) Collaborate with academic colleges, departments and various campus stakeholders to ensure the coordinated confluence of student support services throughout the student life cycle. Serve as a point of contact for questions related to the functional applications of unified student success solutions. Assist academic and student support units with determining performance indicators for specific credential progress and completion efforts. Participate in the evaluation of policies, procedures and business processes that impact student success and recommend improvements.</p> <p>(3) Empower students to effectively navigate academic policies and procedures and their educational experience. Troubleshoot student registration and graduation issues when they arise and determine the best course of action. Connect students with campus resources necessary for success. Mitigate hurdles encountered by students that impede progress. Assist with the interpretation of data related to student services, academic success, credential completion, and strategic scheduling. Monitor transient coursework permissions and successful completion.</p> <p>(4) Actively support the functional deployment of student success software. Connect with campus colleagues in support of campus-wide student success initiatives.</p> <p>Additional Position Information:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>(1) Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.</p> <p>(2) A minimum of two (2) years of experience in higher education or student support services.</p> <p>(3) The ability to communicate effectively; analytical thinking; demonstrated abilities to maintain regulatory compliance and to adapt to changing technologies; training, conducting research and/or developing service programs; proven ability to function effectively in a high-paced work environment and to provide superior service to a diverse constituency.</p> <p>Preferred Qualification: Direct student information system experience (Workday, Peoplesoft, and/or Banner).</p> <p>Licenses and Certificates: Requires a valid Driver's License.</p> <p>Application Deadline: Review of applicants will begin on May 19, 2025, and continue until the position is filled.</p> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>The compensation for this position is $45,500 annually. The University of Akron offers a competitive total compensation package comprised of a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits for eligible employees including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, and paid leave of absences including time off for illness, vacation, and maternity or paternity leave.
