<p>Long Term Substitute - Elementary Interventionist JobID: 7404</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Substitute/Elementary Teacher</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/21/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Hough Elementary School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>08/18/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>When Filled</p> <p>Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Title: Elementary Interventionist</p> <ul> <li>Candidate must hold current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsement(s). </li><li>EL Endorsement preferred </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Valid and current elementary or primary-level Illinois teacher license</p> </li><li> <p>Reading Specialist certification (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Mathematics and ESL endorsements (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Masters in Literacy or Mathematics Education or related field or National Board Certification (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Evidence of at least three (3) years of exemplary classroom teaching experience (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>A proven track record in the use of a rich array of instructional methods, the analysis and use of data and technology to improve instruction, and the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively.</p> </li><li> <p>Evidence of planning, organization, and time management skills that will bring structure and accountability to the position.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to apply literacy and mathematical content knowledge, formative assessment, and technology integration at a high level.</p> </li><li> <p>Deep understanding of student learning styles, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction; relative to both content and language.</p> </li><li> <p>Desire to continue learning "what works" in literacy and mathematics instruction, as well as MTSS.</p> </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Learning Services</p> <p>SUPERVISES: N/A</p> <p>PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide focused interventions to small groups of and/or individual students in accordance with our district and school MTSS plans.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for literacy and math services in individual, and/or small group settings, including push-in and pull-out services.</p> </li><li> <p>Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of the District's literacy and math content standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students.</p> </li><li> <p>Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.</p> </li><li> <p>Creates a classroom environment and research-based program of study that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts student assessments to identify those eligible for intervention services, to plan instruction, and/or to assist staff members in learning various assessment techniques. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate student progress to parents and teachers on a continuous basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates, as needed, with appropriate school/district personnel regarding students who may need specialized interventions.</p> </li><li> <p>Strives to maintain and improve professional learning through professional development activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Leads MTSS discussions and decisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in discussions or activities focused on using research to improve literacy and math.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in staff development focused on delivery of literacy and math core, intervention, and assessment.</p> </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: (Completed by Office of Human Resources)</p> <p>Apporx Dates of Leave</p> <p>8/18/25 - 10/06/25</p> <p>Mornings only</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Not Eligible For</p> <p>Rate of Pay</p> <p>$220 - $250 per day</p>
