<p>Job Title Special Education Teacher</p> <p>Qualifications BSE in the area of Special Education Instructional</p> <p>Specialist and current Arkansas teaching license</p> <p>Contract 190 days</p> <p>Evaluator Special Education Supervisor</p> <p>Job Goal Special Education resource teacher will provide</p> <p>instructional, behavioral, communicative, and</p> <p>social/emotional services to identified students with</p> <p>special needs according to the student's Individualized</p> <p>Education Plan (IEP) and Individuals with Disabilities</p> <p>Education Act (IDEA) guidelines</p> <p>Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <p>Instructional:</p> <ul> <li>Provide instruction in all areas of curriculum according to individual student's IEP </li><li>collaborate with general educators and team to provide support in all classes </li><li>using specialized techniques, design and provide instruction in all academic, behavioral, communicative, and social/emotional domains to help students reach their goals </li><li>work with behavioral and academic intervention teams to assist with concerns regarding students </li><li>perform achievement screenings and diagnostic assessments as needed </li></ul> <p>Organizational</p> <ul> <li>complete required federal paperwork under IDEA provisions including the IEP and annual review </li><li>schedule and direct meetings with parents and staff regarding the student's learning and progress </li><li>maintain timeline requirements for all paperwork </li></ul> <p>Professional</p> <ul> <li>work with educators, parents, support staff, administration, and teams to support and educate children with disabilities </li><li>attend required professional development </li><li>work with colleagues to maintain and support instructional and behavioral plans </li></ul>
