The ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must. This position will require interaction with all employee and management levels as well as frequent interaction with Human Resources, various agencies, and third-party providers.</p> <p>Some, but not all, specific tasks to be performed are as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Perform quality checks on all data entry activity performed by the departments financial clerks. </li><li>Monitor all payroll activity related to internal transfers between pay groups. Calculate and process payoffs; ensure accuracy of pay and labor transactions. </li><li>Coordinate tax location code updates for employees entering and returning from extended work assignments. Coordinate wage and tax reversals as necessary. </li><li>Monitor and perform updates to multistate taxation related activity. </li><li>Evaluate monthly leave accrual activity for accuracy. Perform updates as necessary. </li><li>Support payroll audits. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy </li><li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality working with sensitive information </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all layers within the organization as well as outside agencies and third-party providers </li><li>Ability to effectively work as a team player in a fast paced, deadline driven environment </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance </li><li>1+ years of Payroll processing experience </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel </li><li>Reporting and data analysis experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with mainframe based financial systems </li><li>PeopleSoft experience </li><li>Prior experience working with multiple pay groups / collective bargaining units </li><li>Microsoft office suite </li></ul>
