This is a role for someone who stays cool under pressure, moves quickly with breaking news, and thinks several blocks ahead. We're looking for a strong editorial mind and a sharp production hand. Someone who understands the rhythm of live TV and knows how to keep the show moving with precision and energy.</p> <p>This Line Producer position supports multiple shows across the NBC News NOW platform, from breaking news blocks to signature daily programming. You'll be part of a dynamic team that works across formats and dayparts, so flexibility, speed, and teamwork are key.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with senior producers and executive producers to build, refine, and execute daily rundowns across several NBC News NOW shows </li><li>Lead the control room during live broadcasts - making quick editorial decisions and adjusting rundowns as breaking news develops </li><li>Collaborate with show directors to block and time live programming </li><li>Approve and copy edit scripts with an eye for tone, accuracy, and editorial standards </li><li>Pitch compelling news stories and fresh, original segment ideas </li><li>Work with producers to identify the strongest elements for every block, from video and graphics to sound and live guests </li><li>Write headlines, teases, and scroll graphics that drive viewer engagement </li><li>Generate fresh copy in real time when news is moving fast </li><li>Communicate effectively with talent, guests, and correspondents </li><li>Move seamlessly between shows and teams - and embrace a fast-paced, always-changing news cycle </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience working in broadcast, cable, or live-streaming news </li><li>Minimum 3 years on a live, daily show </li><li>At least 1 year as a line producer, ideally with breaking news experience </li><li>Strong editorial judgment and deep understanding of journalistic standards </li><li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience </li><li>Willing and able to work in person five days a week in New York, NY </li></ul> <p>Desired Characteristics</p> <ul> <li>Strong journalist with excellent control room instincts </li><li>Editorially sharp and visually creative - you care about headlines, graphics, and clean visual storytelling </li><li>Energized by live breaking news and able to jump in anytime - nights, weekends, holidays </li><li>Steady under pressure and decisive in a fast-paced control room </li><li>Enjoys working collaboratively across multiple teams and formats </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Flexible schedule - this role includes early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed </li><li>Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. </li></ul> <p>This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
