<p>Duties</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Appropriately licensed/certified by the Illinois State Board of Education </li><li>Teachers in grades 6-8 must have Middle School Endorsement in Content Area </li></ul> <p>Accountable to:</p> <ul> <li>Building Administrator(s) </li></ul> <p>Primary Objective:</p> <ul> <li>To establish effective rapport and good relationships with pupils, parents, other staff members, and community members in order to create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, motivating pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability </li></ul> <p>Evaluation:</p> <ul> <li>Per the Performance Evaluation Reform Act of 2010 (PERA), Senate Bill 7, and Articles 24A and 34 of the Illinois School Code </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Teach district-approved curriculum </li><li>Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district </li><li>Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil </li><li>Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters/notes (electronic or paper), phone calls, conferences, emails, etc. </li><li>Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere </li><li>Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports </li><li>Identify pupil needs, makes appropriate referrals, and develops strategies for individual education plans </li><li>Available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day, within contractual hours </li><li>Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals, parents, and/or volunteers in the classroom and on field trips </li><li>Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the student </li><li>Create an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays interest centers and exhibits of student's work </li><li>Supervise classroom, students, and volunteers </li><li>Seek out professional growth opportunities and reflects on teaching practices in order to develop and grow professionally </li><li>Participate in a professional community to contribute to overall school program </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bending, carrying, climbing, must be able to travel between job sites, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking </li><li>Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs., such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture </li><li>Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather, meet multiple demands from several people, and interact with the public and other staff </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Includes extremes of temperature and humidity </li><li>Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>Per MTA Professional Collective Bargaining Agreement </li></ul> <p>FLSA Status:</p> <ul> <li>Salary/Exempt </li></ul> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Per MTA Negotiated Agreement </li></ul> <p>Salary:</p> <p>$46,794 - $61,108</p> <p>ILearn Link</p> <p>ILearn</p> <p>Report Card Link</p> <p>Illinois Report Card</p> <p>Job Posting Date</p> <p>6/9/2025</p> <p>Start Date</p> <p>6/9/2025</p>
