You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle-from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support-ensuring solutions meet rigorous standards for reliability, scalability, data integrity, security, and maintainability.</p> <p>You will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and business partners to solve complex problems, modernize application components, and continuously improve how teams design, build, and operate software.</p> <p>Your Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications in alignment with functional and non-functional requirements </li><li>Build high-quality, maintainable Java code following established design and coding standards </li><li>Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure application correctness, performance, and reliability </li><li>Contribute to the design and implementation of application components and services </li><li>Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, helping to drive engineering best practices and continuous improvement </li><li>Create and maintain clear system and technical documentation </li><li>Partner with subject matter experts, architects, and peers to review and refine technical designs and specifications </li><li>Apply appropriate software development methodologies (Agile, iterative, or waterfall) based on project needs </li><li>Support CI/CD practices, including automated builds, testing, and deployments </li><li>Provide production support as needed, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and issue resolution </li><li>Embed risk and control considerations into day-to-day development activities, escalating concerns as appropriate </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 4 -6 years of related experience. </li><li>Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience </li></ul> <p>Talent Needed for Success</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience developing and supporting backend Java applications in an enterprise environment </li><li>Strong Java development experience using Core Java / Java EE and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC), including RESTful API development </li><li>Experience building or supporting microservices or layered architectures (e.g., SOA, MVC), including integration with existing or legacy systems </li><li>Solid experience with relational databases and SQL; experience with Oracle and PL/SQL is preferred </li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD practices and source control, using tools such as Git or Bitbucket, Maven, and Jenkins </li><li>Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito </li><li>Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban) and using tools such as Jira </li><li>Basic understanding of application security concepts, including authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth, JWT) </li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and business teams </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills</p> <ul> <li>Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes </li><li>Experience with messaging or integration technologies such as MQ or Kafka </li><li>Exposure to web technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and JSON </li><li>Experience working with SOAP services in addition to REST APIs </li><li>Familiarity with code quality, security, and scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Veracode) </li><li>Experience with UI or end-to-end testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma </li><li>Experience improving monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support practices </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with backend engineering best practices </li><li>Ability to resolve technical disagreements constructively and contribute to a transparent, collaborative team culture </li></ul> <p>The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
