The incumbent will serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) on federally-funded research grants, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of sustainable management practices for marsh environments.</p> <p>Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>The ideal candidate holds a PhD in environmental studies, marine biology, ecology, or a closely related field, with more than 20 years of relevant professional experience. </li></ul> <p>Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>In addition to the minimum education and experience, they possess demonstrated expertise in measuring and modeling marsh elevation, porewater dynamics, and other key parameters critical to understanding coastal wetland systems. </li><li>The candidate has a strong record of scholarly achievement, including successfully securing competitive research funding and leading complex research projects. </li><li>Additionally, they have substantial experience in science communication, evidenced by an established publication record in peer-reviewed literature. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</p> <ul> <li>The position will entail project management, occasional fieldwork, data interpretation, presentations at national/international conferences, and other associated activities. </li></ul> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Identify and pursue funding opportunities from federal agencies and other sources.
