<p>TE4 Construction</p> <p>Who we are looking for:</p> <ul> <li>Licensed Professional Engineer </li><li>Problem solver </li><li>Effective communicator </li><li>Good leadership and mentoring skills </li><li>Experience in management of construction projects </li><li>Good organizational skills </li><li>Knowledge of construction specifications and contract requirements </li></ul> <p>What you will be doing:</p> <ul> <li>Act as Staff Specialist managing construction projects within the Construction Department </li><li>Support assigned project staff in the performance of highway construction projects and the testing functions to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications </li><li>Review and evaluate construction or plan issues in the field </li><li>Authorize the need for revisions to the plans and review change orders on projects </li><li>Review Progress Schedules and recommend extension of completion dates and assessment of Liquidated Damages </li><li>Negotiate prices for extra work and new items of work needed on the projects </li><li>Reviews and coordinates flow of project submittals, including shop drawings, lab reports, RFI's, dispute documentation, etc. </li><li>Review project staffing and equipment needs and assignment of staff and equipment based on project </li><li>Management of assigned staff, including approval of Kronos & EIMS time, employee evaluations, approval of training, etc. </li><li>Mentoring of assigned staff to ensure proper administration, inspection, and documentation is being completed </li><li>Meet with contractors, local agencies, and public to resolve project issues and complaints </li><li>Conduct and participate in construction project meetings (preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, partnering meetings, etc.) </li><li>Involvement in project development prior to project award, including scope meetings, scope reviews, plan/constructability reviews, prebid questions, etc. </li></ul> <p>Benefits to you:</p> <ul> <li>At least a 14% employer contribution in to your OPERS pension plan </li><li>Pay increases pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code </li><li>Work/Life Balance </li><li>The opportunity to work on an important mission </li></ul> <p>Position designated Career Professional per Section 5501.20</p> <p>Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged in engineering projects or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies only to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.</p> <ul> <li>Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license. </li><li>Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration. </li></ul> <p>All candidates applying for employment opportunities should be authorized to work in the United States.
