<p>Job Title: Product Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Product Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in both design and product engineering processes. You will be responsible for developing and refining product designs, ensuring they meet functional, performance, and cost objectives. Your work will involve collaboration with various teams to ensure seamless production and continuous improvement of existing product lines.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and assemblies using SolidWorks software. </li><li>Create robust, manufacturable designs that meet functional requirements, performance targets, and cost goals. </li><li>Apply engineering analysis techniques such as FEA, tolerance stack-ups, and test data interpretation. </li><li>Lead design revisions, prototype builds, and design validation activities. </li><li>Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, and suppliers to ensure seamless production readiness. </li><li>Document design intent, specifications, and engineering calculations. </li><li>Support existing product lines through engineering changes, quality improvements, and cost reduction initiatives. </li><li>Support ECO/ECR processes and maintain product data within the Engineering Vault. </li><li>Work with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier issues, field failures, production challenges, or customer concerns. </li><li>Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions. </li><li>Assist with product testing, verification, and reliability activities. </li><li>Develop and update BOMs and technical documentation. </li><li>Engage in cost-saving initiatives by substituting alternative materials and analyzing alternative designs. </li><li>Conduct comprehensive product line reviews, including competitor analysis and reverse engineering. </li><li>Write test plans, support with test preparation, and analyze the results. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in SolidWorks for developing 3D models and assemblies. </li><li>Experience with DFMEA and root cause analysis techniques. </li><li>Familiarity with Six Sigma or similar problem-solving methodologies such as 8D. </li><li>3-5 years of relevant experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Six Sigma or 8D certification. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work schedule is typically from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.</p> <p>This role is based in an office environment, offering a professional and collaborative setting. The position comes with a benefit of 3 weeks of paid time off.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Zeeland, MI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
