<p>TYPE OF POSITION: Part time (23.75 hours per week; 9:50 AM to 2:35 PM each day); 2025-2026 school year; salary commensurate with experience and education as set forth in the agreement between the School Committee of the Town of Seekonk and Local 1701, State Council 93, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO</p> <p>LOCATION: Mildred H. Aitken Elementary School</p> <p>START DATE: August 26, 2025</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principal</p> <p>The Supervisory Aide monitors and assists students during lunch and indoor & outdoor recess periods.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must minimally have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and organizational skills </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work well with teachers, students and administrators </li><li>High school diploma preferred </li><li>Prior experience with supervision of elementary students preferred </li></ul> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS which include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise and assist elementary students when entering the cafeteria and during their lunch period. </li><li>Provide supervision to students, pre-K through 5th grade, in the lunchroom, in lines and on the playground. </li><li>Monitor safety in cafeteria and on playground </li><li>Advise students as to safe practices in all situations </li><li>Assist students in organizing games and other activities </li><li>Monitor student behavior and support the conduct policies/procedures of the school. </li><li>Provide encouragement and discipline as appropriate. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal. </li></ul> <p>The Seekonk Public Schools strives to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment in which all students can thrive and succeed in its schools.
