<p>The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:</p> <p>Position: VOIP Manager</p> <p>Job Description: Develop, maintain, and improve the speed and reliability of Internet connectivity, the district VOIP network and infrastructure. Integrate security and accountability into the VOIP network planning and operation.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide recommendations regarding suitability of new VOIP technologies and, if appropriate, suggest system migration plans. </li><li>Build and install Internet VOIP software and supporting applications on local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) servers. </li><li>Enhance and upgrade the VOIP network software to improve performance and reliability for LAN/WAN servers. </li><li>Set up, configure, and manage servers and Voice Gateways. </li><li>Manage daily procedures for the FRPS local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) such as system backups, databases, and software applications. </li><li>Support school staff in the operation and configuration of VOIP systems. </li><li>Coordinate with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to resolve VOIP, router and voice mail related issues. </li><li>Maintain schedules, status reports (including resolution logs) and inform the CIO of any system wide problems. </li><li>Document and communicate any issues related to current projects to the CIO. </li><li>Assist with project planning, scheduling, and oversight of technical implementation of projects. </li><li>Provide users with technical support and staff training on an ongoing basis. </li><li>Participate in professional development activities. </li><li>Perform other related duties as requested by the Chief Information Officer. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BA/BS, course work in Computer Science or related field. </li><li>4-5 Years, experience in providing technical support in a complex Information Technology (IT) setting similar to the FRPS IT environment. </li><li>Knowledge of network administration on diverse operating system platforms including Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Dynamic Host. </li><li>Configuration of CISCO Call Manager and voicemail systems. </li><li>Ability to accept feedback and direction to improve service and operations. </li><li>Ability to manage and direct personnel to perform network service and maintenance tasks. </li><li>Ability to manage workload and delegate tasks to be completed in a timely fashion. </li><li>Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts. </li><li>Ability to communicate with users of all proficiency levels. </li></ul> <p>The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.</p> <p>Reports To: Chief Information Officer</p> <p>Supervises: Networking and designated IT Staff</p> <p>Terms of Employment: Salary and benefits to be negotiated.
