Mechanical Services</p> <p>Apply now Job no: 504958</p> <p>Work type: Full-Time</p> <p>Location: University City - Philadelphia, PA</p> <p>Categories: Drexel University, Office of the President</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position is responsible to manage campus Building Automation Systems (BAS) to efficiently run our campus HVAC equipment. They must implement changes to the system, make corrections to programs, as well as recommendations to run equipment to optimal performance and efficiency. This position will monitor, manage, and direct HVAC personnel both outside contractors, as well as Drexel Union Engineers to maintain building system performance. This position will also manage annual campus fire alarm and fire suppression scheduling and documentation for the campus(es). Must successfully demonstrate ability and willingness to work as part of a team, including off-shift hours and emergency response situations.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Supervise, schedule and provide direct oversight to a unionized stationary engineer work force on a daily basis. </li><li>Scheduling regular preventative maintenance with computerized maintenance management system. Schedule workload based off of work orders and planned maintenance. Perform work in a cost effective and safe manner following applicable safety and university standards. </li><li>Identify, locate, procure and maintain an appropriate on-site inventory of equipment, replacement parts and tools. </li><li>Schedule and maintain all records of the maintenance, repair and testing of combustion units. Comply with all regulatory requirements. </li><li>Maintain refrigerant inventory, recovery, transition, usage and disposal records in order to document compliance with the proper regulatory requirements. </li><li>Review and manage the campus building BAS systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of all HVAC systems. </li><li>Share in on-call response with other facilities managers for off-hour emergencies. </li><li>Ensure the continuous operation of university equipment to provide for the proper temperature and environmental conditions needed to operate a 24/7 research university. </li><li>Train all stationary engineers in the proper maintenance of university equipment using the proper measurement devices and tools in order to meet the original manufacturers specifications. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum of HS Diploma or GED in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 5 years of experience with building mechanical systems and mainstream building automation software applications.</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Typically sitting at a desk/table </li><li>Typically standing, walking </li><li>Typically bending, crouching, stooping </li><li>Lifting demands = 25lbs </li></ul> <p>Location</p> <ul> <li>University City - Philadelphia, PA </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630.00 to $ 93,950.00.
