<p>DENTAL HYGIENIST- $8,000 Sign-On Bonus</p> <p>Kenton Community Health Center</p> <p>Schedule: Full-Time, Tuesday - Thursday (12 hour shifts)</p> <p>Health Partners of Western Ohio is searching for a Dental Hygienist who is interested in working at our Kenton Community Health Center. The Dental Hygienist will provide direct provision of oral hygiene and appropriate preventive services to dental patients at Kenton Community Health Center. The Dental Hygienist will also be responsible for providing appropriate oral health information to individuals and groups.</p> <p>BENEFITS OFFERED:</p> <ul> <li>Starting pay $31.25 an hour- goes up based on experience </li><li>8,000 Dollar Sign on Bonus with a 4-year commitment. </li><li>Paid Time Off (PTO) </li><li>Insurance (Medical, Dental, and Vision) </li><li>Paid Holidays </li><li>403b Retirement with up to 8% match (starts at 3% and increases with time of service at HPWO) </li><li>Eligible to Apply for National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment </li><li>Continuing Education Money ($3,000) that can be used for license, memberships, CE classes and travel expenses. </li><li>Annual Raises </li><li>Training Opportunities </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Embraces an active and healthy lifestyle including smoke-free living, stress reduction, exercise, work/life balance and healthy dietary choices. </li><li>Participates in and promotes health and wellness activities within the organization. </li><li>Supports a patient-centered healthcare home where the patient-provider relationship is encouraged, with an emphasis on coordination of care and the establishment of a long-term healing relationship. </li><li>Supports open patient access to and coordination of care that is supported by information technology. </li><li>Promotes effective and appropriate use of integrated health services at HPWO as part of a "Patient Centered Medical Home" (PCMH) model of care. </li><li>Provides clinical oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, sealant application, and fluoride application consistent with accepted professional practices and standards and in compliance with applicable state law and HPWO policies and procedures. </li><li>Assists in the oral health management of all dental patients. </li><li>Obtains baseline oral hygiene assessment data based upon accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal care. </li><li>Records treatment as they occur in the patient's dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided. </li><li>Provides oral health education and appropriate individual counseling for all HPWO patients. </li><li>Integrates appropriate patient oral hygiene care with other health care professionals involved in the patient's health care management. </li><li>Organizes and performs preventive oral health presentations at on-site and off-site locations. </li><li>Assists in the provision of technical assistance and health education in the community as requested. </li><li>Actively participates in the Quality Improvement Program and serves on committees as assigned. </li><li>Performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by a dentist in accordance with state regulations and law as well as HPWO Dental policies and procedures. </li><li>Assists in the maintenance of all Dental Department areas in compliance with directives and policies as well as HPWO policies relative to infection control, exposure control, and safety issues. </li><li>Receives and places necessary telephone calls consistent with professional matters, clinic business, and patient care. </li><li>Assists with various clinical and administrative functions as directed by the Dental Director. </li><li>Insures the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with HPWO policy as well as state and federal regulations. </li><li>Travels when necessary to meet operational needs. </li><li>As directed by the Dental Director, performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve organizational and programmatic goals and objectives. </li><li>Adheres to the standards and policies of the Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance Programs, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, OIG guidelines, other State and Federal laws). This also includes reporting to the Board of Directors, Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer, supervisor or suggestion box, any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate from an accredited school of dental hygiene. </li><li>Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges. </li><li>Unrestricted license to practice Dental Hygiene in the State of Ohio. </li><li>CPR - BLS (basic life support) required. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. </li><li>Knowledge of public health principles and practices. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare providers. </li><li>Ability to work with a culturally-diverse staff and patient population. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with HPWO management and medical staff members. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>Work is primarily sedentary, demanding sitting, walking, lifting, and bending. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination commonly associated with duties in an office setting will be performed repetitively. This also includes bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, and walking. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols and utilize telephones, computer terminals, fax machines, and copiers is required. The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
