This role focuses on cloud cost optimization, financial governance, and operating model design across large-scale cloud environments.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will work directly with engineering, finance, and platform teams to establish sustainable cloud cost management strategies, implement FinOps frameworks, and deliver measurable improvements in cloud efficiency across cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Cloud Cost Optimization</p> <ul> <li> <p>Analyze cloud usage and spending across enterprise environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify opportunities for cost reduction, rightsizing, and architectural efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement strategies including:</p> </li><li> <p>Reserved instances / savings plans</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment-based discounts</p> </li><li> <p>Storage lifecycle optimization</p> </li><li> <p>Compute rightsizing</p> </li><li> <p>Idle resource remediation</p> </li><li> <p>Establish cost allocation models for business units and product teams.</p> </li></ul> <p>FinOps Operating Model Design & Implementation</p> <ul> <li>Design and implement FinOps operating models aligned with industry standards from the FinOps Foundation. </li><li>Define governance frameworks for cloud cost accountability. </li><li>Build collaboration models across Finance, Engineering, and Product teams. </li><li>Establish chargeback/showback mechanisms. </li></ul> <p>Enterprise Financial Visibility</p> <ul> <li> <p>Build and implement dashboards and reporting frameworks for cloud spend.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop KPIs and financial metrics including:</p> </li><li> <p>Cost per customer</p> </li><li> <p>Cost per transaction</p> </li><li> <p>Unit economics</p> </li><li> <p>Cloud gross margin</p> </li><li> <p>Enable forecasting and budgeting for cloud consumption.</p> </li></ul> <p>Customer Advisory</p> <ul> <li>Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients. </li><li>Conduct cloud cost maturity assessments. </li><li>Lead executive-level reviews and FinOps strategy workshops. </li><li>Provide best practices for scaling cloud financial management. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in in cloud financial management, FinOps, cloud architecture, or cloud consulting or other relevant experience, OR a Master's degree and 4 years, OR a Ph.D. and 1 year, OR 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on experience with enterprise cloud platforms such as:</p> </li><li> <p>Amazon Web Services</p> </li><li> <p>Microsoft Azure</p> </li><li> <p>Google Cloud</p> </li><li> <p>Experience analyzing cloud billing data and usage metrics.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of:</p> </li><li> <p>cloud pricing models</p> </li><li> <p>cost optimization strategies</p> </li><li> <p>SaaS infrastructure economics</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate technical financial concepts to executive stakeholders.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Certification from the FinOps Foundation such as FinOps Certified Practitioner.</p> </li><li> <p>Cloud platform certifications such as:</p> </li><li> <p>AWS Cloud Practitioner</p> </li><li> <p>Azure Fundamentals</p> </li><li> <p>Google Cloud Digital Leader</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with FinOps and cloud cost tools such as:</p> </li><li> <p>Cloudability</p> </li><li> <p>CloudHealth</p> </li><li> <p>CloudBolt</p> </li><li> <p>Background in enterprise consulting or managed services.</p> </li><li></li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
