<p>DESCRIPTION</p> <p>As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.</p> <p>Key job responsibilities</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures </li><li>Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation </li><li>Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more </li><li>Maintain a positive working relationship across all of the Amazon Operations facility </li><li>Track and store department inventory </li><li>Move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation </li></ul> <p>A day in the life</p> <ul> <li>Pre-shift meeting: Discuss safety topics, previous shift issues, and priority tasks. </li><li>Check-in with team lead: Review work orders, PM (preventive maintenance) tasks, or emergency repairs. </li><li>Gather tools and PPE: Safety shoes, gloves, vest, and possibly harnesses for high work. </li><li>Perform routine inspections on: Conveyors, scanners, sorters, robotics, pneumatic systems, etc. </li><li>Use handheld devices or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track completed tasks and log findings. </li><li>Respond to alarms or breakdowns: Jammed conveyor belts, faulty sensors, motors failing. </li><li>Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, or running diagnostics on robotic systems. </li><li>Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime. </li></ul> <p>About the team</p> <p>Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering - is the backbone of facility operations, responsible for keeping all the automation, material handling, and building systems running efficiently. It's a multidisciplinary team that blends mechanical, electrical, and control systems expertise to support Amazon's high-speed, tech-driven fulfillment and logistics network.</p> <p>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience </li><li>2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience </li><li>2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment experience </li><li>1+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications experience </li><li>2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience </li><li>2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience </li><li>1+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience </li><li>High school or equivalent diploma </li><li>Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience </li><li>Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards </li></ul> <p>Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.</p> <p>Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
