<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Hourly/Community Education Swim</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/11/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>District Wide</p> <p>District:</p> <p>&nbsp Grosse Pointe Public Schools&nbsp&nbspAdditional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as lifeguard and swim assistant as needed for Community Education swim programs </li><li>During open and lap swims, supervise and assist swimmers as needed including working in water as needed </li><li>During swim classes, assist head instructor in conducting lessons, including working in water with swimmers </li><li>Maintain safe pool deck and enforce safe swimming rules </li><li>Operate handicap chair and lift as needed </li><li>Respond to emergencies using appropriate first aid </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Current American Red Cross certifications for lifeguarding, CPR, First aid, and AED </li><li>Ability to work effectively with swimmers, parents, instructors, and other swim staff members </li><li>Ability to handle handicap chair, lift and rescue equipment </li><li>Experience as lifeguard or swim assistant preferred but not required </li></ul> <p>Working Condition: $12.50/hour- more dependent on experience. Add'l $1.00/hr with WSI; Hours vary</p> <p>Candidates hired for this position will be employed through EduStaff, the educational staffing partner of the Grosse Pointe Public Schools, and will be required to complete a separate Edustaff application and orientation once an employment offer is received.</p> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Complete online application.
