<p>Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, Monday to Friday (rotating days) </li><li>On-call requirement (40 hours per week) 3x </li><li>1 opening is 36 hours per week </li></ul> <p>Seeking a dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying core cases for assigned services and performing the first scrub role, directly assisting the surgeon by passing sterile instruments and supplies at the sterile field.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>First Scrub Role: Assist the surgeon by passing sterile instruments and supplies. </li><li>Anticipate Surgeon Requests: Predict and anticipate surgeon's needs based on case knowledge. </li><li>Core vs. Specialty Cases: Distinguish between core and specialty cases in each service. </li><li>Second Scrub Role: Hold retractors, sponge or suction operative site, apply electrocautery within scope of practice as directed by the surgeon. </li><li>Collaboration: Work with circulating RN to correctly account for countable items at the sterile field according to policy and procedures. </li><li>Supply Management: Assist RN in gathering appropriate supplies for cases, mix, label, and administer all drugs and solutions dispensed to the sterile field, and maintain supply of fluids, solutions, and drugs. </li><li>Patient Care: Identify specific care needs related to the patient's age group. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Preparation and Maintenance: Assist with preparation, maintenance, and after-care of supplies, equipment, and facilities in the OR. </li><li>Equipment Handling: Place equipment and supplies in the operating room and arrange instruments according to instructions. </li><li>Sterilization: Wash and sterilize equipment following manufacturer's recommended instructions. </li><li>Patient Positioning: Assist team members to place and position patients on the Operating Room table. </li><li>Scrubbing and Dressing: Scrub arms and hands appropriately, don gown and gloves, aid OR team members to don gown and gloves, and apply dressings post-surgery. </li><li>On-Call: Must be able to take call independently within 12 months of hire. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Surgical Technologist </li><li>Surgical Instrumentation </li><li>Sterilization </li><li>Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development by obtaining 15 continuing education equivalents per year. </li><li>Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients, families, and coworkers. </li><li>Supports the mission, values, and goals of Connecticut Children's through consistent behaviors. </li></ul> <p>Experience Level:</p> <ul> <li>Intermediate Level </li></ul> <p>Bonuses:</p> <ul> <li>New Graduates: Eligible for $2,000 bonus </li><li>Technologists with 1+ Years Experience: Eligible for $10,000 bonus </li></ul> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $83500.00 - $120900.00/yr.</p> <p>Health Insurance: CCMC offers a Point of Service (POS) plan and a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA) that includes an employer contribution</p> <p>Dental and Vision Insurance: Two PPO dental plans are available, covering preventive care and major restorative services.
