<p>Food Services/District Truck Driver JobID: 7083</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Maintenance/Custodial/Driver</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/30/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Rogers Park Middle School</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Purpose: Delivery and receiving of all district goods, materials, supplies, furniture, etc. under direct supervision of the Coordinator of Sites and Facilities and the Food Services Manager, perform duties that are broadly defined and follow established procedures with minimal supervision. Exercise good judgment and discretion in planning and prioritizing work in receiving, storing and distribution of supplies, materials and equipment. Meets established delivery schedules and communicates with peers in immediate work group, district staff, and outside delivery persons.</p> <p>Examples of Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Deliver, load and unload perishable food items, district equipment, supplies and other special requests according to established schedule </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with coworkers, students, and parents; cultural sensitivity and ability to relate well and effectively in a diverse workplace and with a diverse client population. </li><li>Keep food truck/van clean and sanitary inside and out at all times. </li><li>At times, makes special deliveries. </li><li>Make appropriate and timely decisions. </li><li>Picks-up and return food delivery truck to designated area each day. </li><li>Store all perishable food returned from satellite schools to the base kitchen in appropriate places. </li><li>Check oil, cooling fluids, and tires on a regular schedule. </li><li>Reports absence to the Coordinator of Sites and Facilties in a timely manner so that substitute coverage can be arranged. </li><li>Demonstrate professional behavior with a strong adherence to confidentiality. </li><li>Receives deliveries of supplies, stocks and rotates inventories. </li><li>Maintains driver's log, delivery forms and appropriate paper work. </li><li>Sweep and reorganize storerooms and sweep and mop walk in refrigeration/freezers. </li><li>Performs vehicle inspections and records data. </li><li>Makes minor repairs to vehicles to keep them in good working condition. </li><li>Informs supervisor of repairs required to maintain safe operation of vehicle. </li></ul> <p>JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Must possess and maintain a valid CT Drivers License. </li><li>Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. </li><li>Five (5) years driving experience with a clean driving record. </li><li>Be able to lift sixty (60) pounds. </li><li>Demonstrate a working knowledge of basic math and ability to follow instruction. </li><li>Takes pride in personal appearance and maintain good personal hygiene. </li><li>Good health, high moral character, and good attendance record. </li><li>Professional tact, diplomacy and flexibility with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents, and the community. </li><li>Be able to do tasks that require repetitive motion. </li><li>Have the ability to make appropriate and timely decisions. </li><li>Knowledge of safe delivery/handling/lifting practices for the position. </li><li>Ability to follow procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. </li><li>Must pass a written driving test (passing grade 90 of higher). </li><li>Truck driving delivery experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and functions of the job and are not meant to be all inclusive.
