<p>Description</p> <ul> <li>$4,000 Sign-On Bonus for Full-time externals only, pro-rated for Part-time* </li></ul> <p>Medical Practice LPN in the Gastroenterology department in Norwalk, CT</p> <p>40 hours per week, Monday- Friday 8 hour shifts 8:30am-5:00pm</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>To assist the physician or APRN in providing medical care to the patients of the Office Practice.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Prepares materials, supplies, equipment and the patient to assist the physician or the APRN with the patient's medical exam.</p> </li><li> <p>Obtains the patients history and basic medical data such as vital signs, medications/allergies, height and weight.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides direct patient care such as injections of endocrine specific medications.</p> </li><li> <p>Collects, prepares and analyzes patient specimens as directed by the physician or APRN.</p> </li><li> <p>Instructs the patient and family on how to perform physician recommended preventive care, take prescribed medication, prepare for tests, monitor treatment progress and note symptom changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Contacts the patient by telephone to provide requested follow-up, advise them of test results or relay a physician's instructions, documents appropriately in EMR.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice's and WCMG missions through a process of total quality improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Foundational Values (Personal, Imaginative, Agile, Connected).</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as required.</p> </li></ol> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting. </li><li>Licensed Practical Nurse licensure. </li><li>Basic medical knowledge and terminology. </li><li>Computer skills/data entry. </li><li>Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals. </li><li>Vaccine administration and medication preparation. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum Experience: one year. </li><li>Proficiency in multiple languages. </li><li>Phlebotomy. </li><li>EKG. </li></ul> <p>Education Required:</p> <ul> <li>HS Graduate or Equivalent. </li><li>Graduate of an accredited LPN Program. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity</p> <p>Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk</p> <p>Physical Effort: Sedentary/light effort.
