<p>Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking experienced ELL Teacher to support school efforts by developing and executing a shared vision and mission for enhanced student learning to achieve dramatic gains in student achievement. Reporting to the Administrator of the School, the Teacher will support the vision for school culture and academics; support a rigorous coaching plan, and ensure that students are preparing for the next level.</p> <p>Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Cirriculum and Instruction/Director of Literacy, Ciriculum and Instruction</p> <p>Supervises: None</p> <p>Pay Grade: Classified</p> <p>Major Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provide English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to Multilingual Learners identified as English Learners. </li><li>Monitor the progress of English Learners monthly to identify growth and proficiency in the four language domains: reading, writing, speaking and listening. </li><li>Adjust instruction and provide interventions for students who are not making progress or achieving proficiency in language development. </li><li>Collaborate and communicate with the students' content teacher(s) to align instruction and support to both the students' English language development across all four domains and their classroom instructional needs (instructions, vocabulary, reading and writing support, and clarification of assignments). </li><li>Collaborate and communicate with the school's instructional leadership team, instructional coaches, and administration to ensure ELL students receive language support and other forms of academic assistance. </li><li>Assist with the oversight and delivery of WIDA Screeners and ACCESS administration. </li><li>Prepare for and assist with organization of ELL student transition meetings for those ready to transition out of ELL services. </li><li>Plan and deliver lessons aligned to WIDA Instructional Standards and deliver appropriate lessons for varying levels of English proficiency. </li><li>Demonstrate cultural proficiency and use effective and culturally-relevant instructional practices. </li><li>Integrate technology into the classroom as an instructional tool and for personal productivity. </li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of and fluency using WIDA's ELD Standards Framework and Can Do Descriptors. </li><li>Assist classroom teachers in the administration of all mandated state and local assessments for English language learners whenever appropriate. </li><li>Attend district and state-sponsored professional development opportunities sufficient to stay current with changes in ELL instruction and improvements in ELL teaching strategies. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Education Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. </li><li>Missouri Teacher Certification or Provisional accepted </li></ul> <p>Other requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district. </li><li>Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard. </li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and/or be mobile. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
