<p>JOB GOAL:</p> <p>The Magnet Site Coordinator will have significant responsibility for all implementation aspects of the specialized magnet program. This dynamic position requires a passionate education professional who will oversee program implementation, coordinate professional development, manage data collection, lead recruitment efforts, and support theme-based curriculum development. The Site Coordinator will play a lead role in the school-based outreach, recruitment, and family and community engagement activities.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>This position is a nine and one-fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days), plus a benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSD's salary placement guidelines. FLSA: EXEMPT.</p> <p>This is a grant-funded position and is dependent on grant renewal.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must hold a valid Arkansas teaching license. </li><li>Master's degree preferred. </li><li>At least five (5) years of successful experience in education with special magnet-focused interest/experience in curriculum and professional development. </li><li>Knowledge of the school and District policy and procedures. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills. </li><li>Evidence of strong organizational skills. </li><li>Knowledge of best practices featured in magnet schools. </li><li>Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Evidence of strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and schedule all magnet-related activities, events, and professional development sessions. </li><li>Plan, coordinate, and facilitate professional development sessions for teacher staff. </li><li>Collaborate with the building principal to identify relevant training opportunities aligned with the magnet theme. </li><li>Support teachers in implementing new instructional strategies learned through professional development. </li><li>Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract diverse student applicants. </li><li>Create marketing materials highlighting the unique aspects of the magnet program. </li><li>Represent the magnet program at community events, school fairs, and information sessions. </li><li>Conduct school tours and information sessions for prospective families. </li><li>Build and maintain relationships with families, community organizations, and business partners. </li><li>Coordinate family involvement activities that support the magnet theme. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers to develop and enhance theme-based instructional materials. </li><li>Guide integrating the magnet theme across content areas. </li><li>Support teachers in developing innovative learning experiences aligned with the school's magnet focus. </li><li>Develop partnerships with community organizations and businesses to enhance program offerings. </li></ul> <p>Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.</p>
