<p>Application Deadline: Open Until Filled</p> <p>Annual Salary:</p> <p>Dependent on experience and qualifications.</p> <ul> <li>Utility Maintenance Worker: $ 45,752.51 - $ 60,369.50 </li><li>Utility Maintenance Operator I: $ 48,041.34 - $ 63,389.46 </li><li>Utility Maintenance Operator II: $ 50,445.20 - $ 66,561.46 </li><li>Utility Maintenance Operator, Senior: $ 55,614.83 - $ 73,382.61 </li></ul> <p>The City of Laramie is currently accepting applications for the role of Utility Maintenance Worker, Operator, or Senior Operator. This position involves a range of responsibilities, including installing, maintaining, repairing, and cleaning facilities for wastewater treatment and collection, water treatment, and water distribution systems. Additionally, the job includes installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining water meters and backflow prevention devices, as well as performing meter readings.</p> <p>The City will cover costs for your Class A CDL license, study materials, and operator license fees. Additionally, there is an annual allowance of $300 for clothing and $200 for steel-toe boots. Suitable candidates should have experience in utility maintenance, be highly motivated, and eager to serve their community.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of the collection, distribution, and meter systems for the water and wastewater systems. </li><li>Operate excavators, backhoes, dump trucks, vac trucks, jackhammers, and large pumps. </li><li>Ability to operate utility technologies, including a magnetic locator, leak detection equipment, hydrant pressure gauge, pipe threader, confined space ventilation blower, flaring tools, tapping machine, and water main hot tapping machine. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to learn and adhere to the Wyoming DEQ and EPA rules and regulations, OSHA, MUTCD, Wyoming State Statutes, City of Laramie Ordinances, and any other governing rules that affect operations. </li><li>Ability to travel to various sites and locations. </li><li>Available for on-call, standby, and emergency calls. </li></ul> <p>Utility Maintenance Operator, Senior:</p> <ul> <li>May be assigned areas of concentration, such as safety training, utility locates, backflow testing and repair, CCTV operation, line washing, GIS mapping updates, inventory, or any other special project. </li><li>They will supervise the workflow associated with these areas of concentration, in collaboration with the Supervisor and the Crew Leader, for staff assignments and support to ensure the success of these areas. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED. </li><li>Current Wyoming driver's license. </li><li>Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement within 9 months. </li><li>Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Level 1 Distributions and Level I Collections certifications within 12 months. </li><li>Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Level II Distributions and Level II Collections certifications within 24 months. </li></ul> <p>Utility Maintenance Operator, Senior:</p> <ul> <li>Must have three years of increasingly responsible experience in a utility-related system, such as collections, distribution, meters, water treatment, pumps and wells, or wastewater, or in a closely associated field, such as construction, plumbing, or project management. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Our Team?</p> <p>The City of Laramie provides a comprehensive benefits package to promote employee well-being and work-life balance.
