<p>Overview</p> <p>As an Environmental Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring daily compliance for EB-Groton Shipyard's Water Compliance Program.</p> <p>This includes duties such as:</p> <ul> <li>Monitoring compliance with the facility's new stormwater permit. </li><li>Preparation of comprehensive state and federal reports. </li><li>Detailed review and oversight of recordkeeping requirements. </li><li>Review of new and proposed shipyard processes and equipment affecting stormwater pollution. </li><li>Composing environmental permitting applications related to facility construction projects. </li><li>Overseeing/monitoring construction projects to ensure environmental compliance. </li></ul> <p>The candidate must be a self-starter, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and be very effective in writing and communicating. Daily interface with Operations, Management, the customer and regulatory personnel is critical to ensuring the success of the compliance program and the effective resolution to problems. Candidate must be highly motivated and require little supervision.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>1-5 years post-graduate, technical experience working on construction projects or environmental consulting/permitting. </li><li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related science. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience using drafting software (AutoCad) </li><li>Experience with environmental regulations and permitting </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to complete work accurately - attention to detail is essential. </li><li>Team attitude and willingness to collaborate with team members and other organizations. </li><li>Highly motivated and requires little supervision. </li><li>Self-starter and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) </li></ul> <p>Physical Qualifications</p> <p>Kneeling, Light Lifting, Stooping</p> <p>Environmental Attributes</p> <p>Cold, Hot, Inside, Outside</p>
