Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals Nurse Residency program has earned the ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program(PTAP) status.</p> <p>The RN Residency program consists of numerous classroom and simulation experiences that complement your unit orientation. You will receive an abundance of support during the program from your assigned preceptor, the clinical educator who supports your unit, and the Nurse Manager with whom you will meet routinely to ensure your success. We also have a mentoring program available to new graduates where you will be paired with experienced new nurses who will help ease the transition of being a new graduate. The average Med-Surg orientation is approximately 12 weeks</p> <p>Come join our J5 team, and work on a combined adult and pediatric medical-surgical unit. Our nurses have been the recipients of many Daisy awards including the Team Daisy Award. We have an established unit practice council and have a dedicated Clinical Nursing Educator. J5 is a 26-bed adult medical/surgical unit combined with a thirteen-bed pediatric unit.</p> <p>The pediatric area specializes in the delivery of comprehensive medical and surgical care of pediatric patients from neonates to 18 years of age.</p> <p>The most frequent medical diagnoses for adult medical patients are · COPD · Pneumonia · Uncontrolled diabetes and sequelae · AKI · Sepsis · Cellulitis · Diverticulitis · Abdominal pain • weakness/fall • The most frequent medical diagnoses for pediatric patients are •asthma• bronchiolitis • • pneumonia • UTI • abdominal pain • dehydration • cellulitis • behavioral • fever.</p> <p>Pediatrics is affiliated with Boston Children's Hospital and is supported by Boston Children's physicians.</p> <p>Education/Certification/Licensure:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) required</p> </li></ul> <p>As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities.
