Schedule will be determined prior to hiring.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Issues written and computer-generated parking citations while patrolling the City primarily on foot or by vehicle. </li><li>Communicate with the public to explain parking regulations. </li><li>Perform traffic control duties during special events and traffic light outages as needed. </li><li>Other duties as needed by the city. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School Graduate or equivalent. </li><li>Must have at least two years of work experience in a related field and/or customer service. </li><li>Ability to learn, comprehend, and retain knowledge of policies and guidelines related to the California Vehicle Code and City of Burbank Municipal Code. </li><li>Must be computer literate to enter data accurately into handheld device. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Valid CA Driver's License required with a good driving record. </li><li>Must be able to report to work on-time for assigned shifts. </li><li>Good sense of direction. </li><li>Experience operating a company vehicle a plus. </li><li>Candidate must be able to walk for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions and be able to enter and exit out of a vehicle frequently. </li><li>MUST be flexible to work late hours. </li><li>Flexibility in schedule to work holidays, evenings, and weekends if scheduled and for mandatory special events. </li></ul> <p>Additional desired experience and skills:</p> <ul> <li>Traffic control experience </li><li>Knowledge of radio calls (10-codes and NATO alphabet) </li><li>Familiarity with City of Burbank streets and boundaries. </li></ul> <p>Candidates must pass Police Department background screening and Live Scan.</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc. - Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds. - Ability to stand, walk and ride an E-Bike for extended periods of time (95-100% of shift) - no sitting is allowed. - Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
