<p>Under the general supervision of the Juvenile Court judge or designee, performs a variety of skilled clerical and administrative work requiring moderate responsibility and independent judgment.</p> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED </p> <p>This position does not have supervisory authority.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS </p> <p>Promote and project a positive image of the Sarpy County Juvenile Court system and department.</p> <p>Serves as receptionist for the department to include: answer phone, check-in individuals for Court, answer questions, provide financial affidavit forms, notary abilities, and process billing requests.</p> <p>Provide administrative support as directed.</p> <p>Communicates with the Bailiffs and Court. </p> <p>Perform clerical and general office duties to include maintain filing system of necessary documents., </p> <p>Process and distribute mail, court reports, and other deliveries.</p> <p>Complete daily assigned work tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.</p> <p>Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Bailiffs and Judges. </p> <p>Assist with working lunches, including orders, supplies, and set-up on a quarterly basis, as needed.</p> <p>Complete Judicial Branch Education annual requirement.</p> <p>Protect and maintain confidential information. </p> <p>Establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships with all judges, co-workers, attorneys, probation or caseworkers, the general public, and other agency representatives.</p> <p>Coordinate with the Finance Department regarding the processing, monitoring, and payment of attorney fees; addressing any issues, as they arise.</p> <p>Perform work under the direction of the Juvenile Court Judges in a professional, timely, and efficient manner. </p> <p>Report to work with regular, predictable, and consistent attendance.</p> <p>Peripheral Duties</p> <p>Perform other duties as directed and assigned.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>High school or GED required.</p> <p>Three (3) years of administrative, clerical or legal office experience preferred.</p> <p>Special Requirements</p> <p>Must be able to obtain notary within timeframe designated by employer. </p> <p>Must have and maintain throughout employment a valid Drivers' License, as well as meet eligibility requirements of "acceptable driver standards" as defined by the County.</p> <p>Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft office suite, and aptitude for learning specialized software and operating systems. </p> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.</p> <p>Must be resourceful and have strong time management and organizational skills.</p> <p>Must be motivated and a fast and eager learner.</p> <p>Ability to multitask, manage complex schedules, and meet changing deadlines.</p> <p>Ability to work under pressure and/or frequent interruptions</p> <p>Ability to navigate stressful situations while maintaining composure</p> <p>Ability to understand and follow exacting verbal and written instructions</p> <p>Ability to prioritize work and carry out assigned projects to completion</p> <p>Ability to manage and protect information of a confidential, sensitive nature </p> <p>Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy</p> <p>Ability to operate equipment including, but not limited to, multiline phone, computer, printer, scanner, copier, and fax </p> <p>The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks.</p> <p>Work requires physical activity including frequent periods of sitting/remaining stationary, reaching, walking/moving about, and operating/manipulating equipment as well as occasional standing/ remaining upright, bending, climbing, and stooping. The incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate and manipulate equipment (e.g. use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls). The employee must frequently lift and/or carry office supplies and occasionally lift, maneuver, and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.</p> <p>Required sensory abilities include vision and hearing. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance, and color vision as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear (e.g. verbal exchange) within normal ranges.</p> <p>Work is performed indoors in an office setting. Incumbent maintains considerable contact with the public and may be exposed to violent or irate individuals. Incumbent occasionally works extended and/or evening hours. Work may be fast-paced when dealing with emergencies, multiple priorities, and/or time constraints. Noise levels typically range from quiet to moderate.</p>
