<p>Division: Within the Nursing Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA</p> <p>The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana </p> <p>ELMHS is looking for a driven and detail-oriented individual to join the Nursing Department as an RN Supervisor A. </p> <p>Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:</p> <p>Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR</p> <p>A bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR</p> <p>A master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR</p> <p>A doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse.</p> <p>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.</p> <p>Job Duties: </p> <p>In this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, manage, and direct total nursing service of a multi-service patient area on a 12 hour basis and coordinates patient and nursing activities with other departments and disciplines. </li><li>Perform all the duties required of a professional nurse and serves as a role model for all levels of professional nurses and paraprofessional staff. </li><li>Make nursing/supervisory rounds and monitor treatment performance/patient care and record documentation to assure compliance with defined standards. </li><li>Orient new personnel to the unit. </li><li>Provide direct administrative supervision, support and consultation to nursing staff on assigned unit. </li><li>Develop performance plan with subordinates, monitor work, provide coaching and training as needed, and objectively evaluates performance of subordinates. </li><li>Assist employees in identifying educational needs and assure staff development participation for self and subordinates. </li><li>Initiate and respond to various codes and supervises staff to assure procedure is done correctly. </li><li>Interpret standards of care and policies/procedures defined by nursing, E.L.M.H.S., LDH, OBH, and Civil Service and assure adherence to same. </li><li>Work with RN Supervisor B in identifying, analyzing, and resolving unit problems. </li><li>Assist with scheduling and leave approval for subordinates when necessary; assume duties of RN Supervisor B as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Position-Specific Details:</p> <p>Appointment Type:  Probational, Promotional, or Detail</p> <p>Compensation: </p> <ul> <li> <p>This position has an SER of $39.12 an hour or $3129.60 bi-weekly </p> </li><li> <p>This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):</p> </li><li> <p>Facility Longevity - Starting at $2.00</p> </li><li> <p>Recruitment/Retention - $10.00</p> </li><li> <p>Recruitment/Retention - 2.00$</p> </li><li> <p>This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.</p> </li></ul> <p>How To Apply:</p> <p>No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.  </p> <p>To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
