<p>2025-202 School Year</p> <p>Bridgeport Public Schools</p> <p>Human Resources Department</p> <p>45 Lyon Terrace, Room 324</p> <p>Bridgeport, CT 06604</p> <p>THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT FACILITATOR</p> <p>AFSCME LOCAL 1522 (POSITION 0528)</p> <p>DUNBAR SCHOOL</p> <p>32.5 HOURS PER WEEK, 10-MONTH POSITION</p> <p>SALARY RANGE: $50,448.00 (STEP 1) TO $57,791.00 (STEP 5)</p> <p>Current members of AFSCME LOCAL 1522 will be given first opportunity to fill the position.</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of an associate's degree, sixty college credits or a passing score on the Para-Pro Assessment test is required. This is in accordance with "No Child Left Behind." </li><li>Three years' work experience in a therapeutic setting preferred. </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of psychology or behavior modification techniques (coursework preferred). </li><li>Communicates effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to implement behavior intervention plans, classroom systems and reinforcement systems. </li><li>Experience with functional behavior assessment/functional behavioral analysis/individual education plans preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated effective problem-solving communication skills. </li><li>Possesses safety awareness and judgement. </li><li>Ability to resolve conflicts in a positive and constructive manner. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the care and welfare of students with mental health challenges. </li><li>Active certification in CPI (non-violent crisis intervention) or PMT (physical management training) which includes the use of restraint and seclusion of all ages. </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours. </li></ul> <p>This job description is not, nor is it intended to be, a complete statement of all duties, functions, responsibilities, qualifications, physical, and cognitive, which comprise this position.
