<p>Job Description</p> <p>Elevator Superintendent - Swanington and Parr, IN</p> <p>This is a salaried, exempt-level role.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee overall elevator operations. </li><li>Investigate and implement improvements to elevator operating procedures. </li><li>Ensure efficiency improvements in department operations. </li><li>Maintain grain quality at an appropriate and acceptable level. </li><li>Serve as a model for safety practices, ensuring compliance with all safety procedures. </li><li>Identify, report, and correct safety hazards and poor practices during daily rounds. </li><li>Conduct housekeeping and safety audits. </li><li>Maintain environmental standards and regulatory compliance. </li><li>Ensure the proper upkeep of the plant's rail tracks and rail unloading operations. </li><li>Lead projects to improve elevator operations (energy reduction, efficiency, cost reduction, maintenance, reliability). </li><li>Follow through on the completion of projects designed to improve elevator operations. </li><li>Research and recommend process modifications to improve design, quality, reliability, safety, and reduce costs. </li><li>Provide leadership and mentoring for team and colleague development. </li><li>Offer training, technical support, mentoring, and periodic performance feedback to team members. </li><li>Lead and manage teams effectively, handling conflict and motivating personnel. </li><li>Maintain good communication with the commercial and rail logistics teams. </li><li>Fill in and assist other departments when necessary for the benefit of the overall operation. </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred. </li><li>5+ years of grain handling experience preferred. </li><li>Experience managing or leading teams required. </li><li>Active participation and leadership in plant safety programs and process hazard analysis. </li><li>Ability to plan, organize, and manage personnel, schedules, and resources. </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. </li><li>Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to manage conflict, motivate, and instruct personnel effectively. </li><li>Ability to solve problems independently and effectively manage multiple tasks. </li><li>Proficiency with software systems like Maximo, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Project, SharePoint). </li><li>Ability to climb stairs, stand or sit for extended periods. </li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and perform physical tasks like bending and kneeling. </li><li>Ability to adjust work hours as needed. </li></ul> <p>Excited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
