<p>Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Machining Prototype Technician to support the build and development of precision rotating machinery used in advanced energy systems.</p> <p>This is a hands-on role focused on assembling, machining, and prototyping turbine and generator systems. You'll work closely with engineers to build and refine complex mechanical assemblies while supporting rapid prototype development.</p> <p>This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building complex hardware and working in an R&D environment.</p> <p>Pay: $50-65/hr+</p> <p>Machining Prototype Technician Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assemble hydroturbine and generator components including rotors, stators, shafts, bearings, and housings</p> </li><li> <p>Perform precision alignment of rotating assemblies including rotor-stator airgap verification</p> </li><li> <p>Support prototype builds, testing, teardown, and design iterations</p> </li><li> <p>Perform machining operations such as lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding</p> </li><li> <p>Fabricatate custom fixtures, jigs, and assembly tooling</p> </li><li> <p>Perform dimensional inspection using precision metrology tools</p> </li><li> <p>Work with engineers to improve manufacturability and assembly processes</p> </li></ul> <p>Machining Prototype Technician Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>10+ years of experience in similar role</p> </li><li> <p>Experience assembling precision mechanical or rotating equipment (turbines, motors, generators, compressors, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience operating multi-axis CNC machines to create shafts, turbines, runners, fixtures, and tooling</p> </li><li> <p>Strong hands-on mechanical and machining skills</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of hydro turbines and elcetrical machines (stators, windings, insulation systems)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with precision measurement tools</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with instrumentation and controls (pressure transducers, thermocouples, TRDs, etc)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in prototype, R&D, or advanced manufacturing environments preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li> <p>$50-$65/hr+</p> </li><li> <p>Company equity opportunities when hired on</p> </li><li> <p>Health, dental, and vision insurance</p> </li><li> <p>PTO and flexible scheduling</p> </li><li> <p>Opportunity to work on advanced mechanical systems in a collaborative engineering environment</p> </li><li> <p>Relocation assistance if needed</p> </li></ul>
