Campus Main Campus, Utica NY Date Position Available 01/01/2026 Posted Salary $75,000-$80,000/year FLSA Status Exempt Benefits Eligible Yes If yes, please select: All Benefits</p> <p>Position Summary Information</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <ul> <li>Position Summary: The Department of Physical Therapy at Utica University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-eligible (Professor of Practice) faculty position in the on-campus, entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This is a 10-month appointment. The start date is January 1, 2026. </li></ul> <p>Location Utica, NY Application Deadline <em>Full consideration by</em>: 01/01/2026 Open Until Filled No Major Responsibilities</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <p>? Teaching responsibilities currently take place during the traditional fall, spring, and summer semesters.</p> <p>? The Assistant DCE's primary responsibilities include managing full-time and integrated clinical education experiences by planning and coordinating with academic and clinical faculty, and integrating clinical education throughout the curriculum. The Assistant DCE is also responsible for communicating with and disseminating information to the individuals involved in the clinical education process, including those at the clinical education facilities. The Assistant DCE participates in and represents the program at regional, state, and national clinical education activities and programs. The Assistant DCE is in direct and continuous contact with academic faculty members regarding curricular issues related to clinical education. The Assistant DCE is responsible for keeping faculty informed of the overall performance of students throughout their clinical education experiences. At the end of each clinical education course, the Assistant DCE summarizes information about students' clinical performance and their ability to integrate academic knowledge, skills, and behaviors. This summary is presented to the faculty as part of the clinical education annual report.</p> <p>? The primary responsibility is to assist the DCE in administering the clinical education program. As a DPT Program faculty member, the successful candidate will participate in advising undergraduate and graduate students, as well as providing professional mentoring.</p> <p>The specific job responsibilities of the DCE are as follows…</p> <p>60% Supervising students during full-time clinical education experiences:</p> <ul> <li>Clinical site visits and/or CCCE/CI supervision and development </li><li>Assignment of students for clinical education experiences </li><li>Clinical site development for ALL levels of clinical education experiences. </li><li>May perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Education. </li></ul> <p>40% Administrative work along with Exxat platform management.</p> <p>Driving Responsibilities Travel</p> <p>Clinical site visits and/or CCCE/CI supervision and development</p> <p>Supervises Possible work-study/student employment supervision Education Required Certification Required Education & Experience Qualifications</p> <p>Education/Certification & Experience Qualifications:</p> <p>? At a minimum, the candidate must have a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, three years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical practice, and two years of clinical practice as a SCCE or CI, or two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a PT program.</p> <p>? Preferred qualifications:</p> <p>Candidates with prior higher education teaching experience.</p> <p>Minimum Skills/Abilities</p> <p>Required License Qualification:</p> <p>? The candidate must have a current unrestricted license or eligibility for PT licensure in New York State.</p> <p>Minimum Skills/Abilities:</p> <p>? A commitment to innovation and student-centered learning.</p> <p>? A commitment to develop a scholarly agenda and engage in research.</p> <p>? Ability to engage in service activities in the department, at the University, and in the surrounding community.</p> <p>? Ability to function well within a collegial, collaborative work environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, such as the ability to understand and resolve conflicts, and demonstrate effective instructional and supervisory skills.</p> <p>? Knowledge of contemporary issues in clinical practice.</p> <p>?
