Responsible for directing traffic in conjunction with movement of children to and from school at specified locations.</p> <p>Job duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Controls the movement of automobiles and trucks at school crossings </li><li>Places school sentinel signs in the roadway at designated points near crossing and removes them before going off duty </li><li>Directs vehicular traffic at designated crossing to allow children to cross safely </li><li>Controls children using the crossing to assure that they conform to traffic regulations </li><li>Reports children who fail to cooperate to the school principal </li><li>Completes reports for the school principal as needed </li><li>Instructs children in elements of traffic safety </li></ul> <p>Job skills:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of traffic regulations </li><li>Knowledge of safety procedures </li><li>Ability to work in inclement weather throughout the year </li><li>Ability and skill in working with children </li><li>Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction </li><li>Ability to show courtesy and tact </li><li>Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position </li><li>Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others </li><li>Salary Range $18.74/hr to $23.53/hr </li></ul> <p>Worthington Independent School District 518 is committed to providing equal opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment in accordance with all applicable Equal Opportunity laws, directives and regulations of Federal, State and Local governing bodies or agencies.
