<p>South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently seeking Loss Resolution Specialist to join our team of outstanding professionals in North Charleston, SC.</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Level I Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Work collaboratively with the Asset Protection management and team to control delinquency and minimize credit loss while following established policies and procedures during the collection of delinquent loans and credit cards. </li><li>Utilize the collection queues, auto dialer system and reports to maintain communication with members on delinquent accounts and document pertinent information appropriately. </li><li>Contact members for repayment arrangements and coordinate receipt of payments. </li><li>Answer telephone calls from internal and external members regarding delinquent accounts and conduct account research, audits and corrections as needed. </li><li>Meet or exceed team objective for delinquency and charge off through accounts reviews and communication with account holders. </li><li>Stay abreast of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. </li><li>Support the Collections Manager with duties as needed. </li><li>Support other team members as needed. </li></ul> <p>Level II Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Research member disputes on delinquent loans and submit corrections or adjustments to the appropriate department as necessary. </li><li>While exercising discretion and judgment, counsel and educate members concerning their financial responsibilities, obligations and options. </li><li>Make recommendations to management for any assistance offered to members with hardships, to include all necessary paperwork to justify the recommendation. Prepare all appropriate forms such as extensions, re-age/fix pays, rewrites, modifications and workouts. Follow all current guidelines for hardship assistance tools. </li><li>Review and recommend accounts for repossession, charge off, legal or magistrate action to management for approval. </li></ul> <p>Level III Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Discuss options for redemption of repossessed vehicles with members, complete the Redemption Approval form and submit to management with a recommendation. </li><li>Evaluate and finalize problem accounts and potential charge-offs for recommendation to management through the collection system. </li><li>Handle requests from members for hardship assistance. Gather appropriate information to determine what hardship tool will best assist the member. </li><li>Complete all appropriate logs pertaining to delinquent loans and hardship assistance. </li><li>Negotiate settlements, including a short sale of collateral and cancel backend products for refunds as needed. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>Possess high school diploma or GED. </li><li>Possess a minimum of 3 years of similar or related collections experience within a financial services work environment. </li><li>Possess ability to successfully perform duties in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment that includes interacting with other via telephone. </li><li>Possess direct work experience communicating professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Possess ability to maintain confidentiality and to handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy. </li><li>Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others at all levels. </li><li>Possess demonstrated ability to examine and interpret complex information and make solid decisions with exceptional judgment. </li><li>Possess direct work experience researching, analyzing and solving difficult problems. </li><li>Possess direct experience working with computers with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and various lending processing systems. </li><li>Possess direct work experience performing intermediate mathematical skills. </li></ul> <p>NOTE: Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.</p> <p>South Carolina Federal Credit Union is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer</p>
