CoreCivic is currently seeking a Managing Director, Operations Finance position located at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN. Come join a team that is dedicated to making an impact for the people and communities we serve.</p> <p>This position would require a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote out of our Brentwood, TN office location.</p> <p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Managing Director, Operations Finance is responsible for oversight of financial operations of the Operations Department including budget development, monitoring, performance evaluation, reporting and directing the implementation of improvement plans. Drives operational processes around financial goal setting and analysis, policy and process development and oversight necessary to achieve targeted financial outcomes. Administers, coordinates, and manages the activities of our facility teams in support of and in furtherance of established organizational goals. Assists in tracking, monitoring, and developing reporting of overall Operational metrics. Collaborates with Finance, Partnership Development, Purchasing and Innovation teams in evaluating new business opportunities and existing operations. Extensive cross-departmental collaboration required with matrix leadership responsibilities across the enterprise.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Supports the Executive Vice President, Operations in the development of short and long range plans that may include demand analyses, resource availability analyses, productivity and cost benefit analyses of operating and capital plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and maintains long and short range operational and capital budgets which support the plans and objectives of the Safety segments. Develops guidelines, assists facilities and reviews annual budget preparation.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises operations analytical and financial support teams through direct supervision and matrixed team leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors financial and economic information to identify trends and indicators that may impact business operations, planning and capital investments.</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes lead role in analyzing and exploring means of optimizing financial performance based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports and operating procedures. Identifies and reports undesirable trends, makes recommendations for action and facilitates the engagement of cross-departmental teams to support and resolve or mitigate trends to optimize performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Directs the preparation of statistical reports, budgets and financial analyses as necessary to support and maximize operational financial performance. Improves operational financial performance by directing the analysis of results, monitoring variances and analyzing trends.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzes, discusses and makes recommendations, with facility management teams and business unit leadership, regarding the financial impact of proposed operational changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates financial operational performance with all stakeholders, including executive management, operations leadership, business unit teams and appropriate facility staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes programs for continuous improvement and the communication, training and implementation of best practices in identified areas of opportunity.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports contract negotiations and reviews material contracts, purchase agreements, and other financial arrangements to ensure compatibility with business goals and expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops standardized and current policies and procedures related to financial operations facilities. Maintains effective control monitoring and audits in facility business offices to ensure that established policies and procedures are implemented effectively.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in the audit committee of the Board of Directors keeping the board and senior management apprised of facility financial control monitoring and findings.</p> </li><li> <p>Recruits, selects, develops and assesses facility and FSC operational finance staff including business unit support teams, Facility Controllers, Managers of Operations Finance, and Business Managers.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides financial leadership and guidance to facility management. Trains managers on operational financial matters and provides routine feedback regarding department performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Using various methods, internal and external resources, maintains effective control monitoring and audits in facility and regional business offices.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports due diligence and integration activities related to M&A working collaboratively within Operations and with Innovations.</p> </li><li> <p>Domestic U.S. travel required.</p> </li></ol> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Graduate from an accredited college of university with a Bachelor's degree is required. CPA or MBA is preferred. Preferred fields of study include Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field. Ten years of relevant business experience is required. Knowledge of financial management, analysis, principles and techniques are required. Ability to work in a "matrix management" role by identifying, team building and executing necessary business strategies. Detail-oriented and proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated track record of achieving results independently and in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Strong analytical, research, problem solving and financial modeling skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, is required.</p>
