As part of Beacon Health System, we're dedicated to improving health and inspiring hope throughout the region.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>As an Advanced Practice Clinical Dietitan, you'll report to the Clinical Nutrition Manager. You will provide Medical Nutritional Therapy (MNT), using assessment, goal/intervention setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You specialize and/or are certified in Malnutrition, Enteral/Parental Feeding, Weight Loss, Heart Failure, Diabetes, Critical Care, Oncology, and more. You will educate patients based on their needs and collaboratively establish standards of care and protocols for specialized patient populations. You will review medical records to assess nutritional needs and develop nutritional interventions in conjunction with the healthcare team. You'll evaluate indicators for the aspects of care in the quality improvement process.</p> <p>Advanced Practice Clinical Dietitian Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Complete provider-ordered consults and nutrition risk screenings.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess nutritional status through chart review, labs, medications, NFPE, and diagnose malnutrition.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and document nutrition care plans using ADIME and NCP standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on nutrition's role in treatment.</p> </li><li> <p>Select and manage enteral/parenteral feeding routes and formulas; calculate nutrient needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Order diets, tube feedings, supplements, labs, and micronutrients per policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide patient/family education and counseling; document outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in rounds, care conferences, discharge planning, and committees.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate home nutrition support and referrals to community resources.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and organizational standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to quality improvement, policy updates, and protocol development.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor interns and educate staff on nutrition guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Market outpatient nutrition services and participate in departmental initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain professional growth through continuing education, certifications, and adherence to ethical standards.</p> </li></ul> <p>What You Bring</p> <p>You bring good verbal and written communication skills and a working knowledge of current nutritional standards. You have knowledge of hospital organization R/T communication, policies/procedures and standards of care. You show resourcefulness in emergency situations.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree?in Dietetics/Nutrition.</p> </li><li> <p>Registration with CDR (Commission on Dietetic Registration)</p> </li><li> <p>Membership with the AND (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics)</p> </li><li> <p>Licensed Dietitian in the state of Indiana</p> </li><li> <p>CPR Certification.</p> </li><li> <p>As of 2024, all incoming Dietitians will need to have a Master's degree.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced Certification (i.e., CDCES, CNSC, CSO, RD-AP, CCTD, CSP, CSR, CEDRD, IBCLC, CSOWM, and CSSD) preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Credentialed for order writing privileges preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Preparation/experience in education/teaching desired.</p> </li></ul> <p>The Beacon Way</p> <p>At Beacon Health System, our approach to care goes beyond clinical excellence because it's built on meaningful connections.
