<p>Description</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Maintenance Worker. This position focuses on the upkeep and maintenance of Lee County's right-of-ways, ensuring that grass and vegetation are consistently well-maintained in designated areas. If you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in maintaining a neat, tidy environment, this position may be the perfect fit for you!</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lawn Maintenance: Mow, trim, and maintain turf areas, ensuring they meet the county's high standards for appearance and safety. </li><li>General Landscaping: Perform edging, weeding, and other landscaping tasks to keep outdoor spaces neat and well-groomed. </li><li>Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate various lawn care equipment, including push mowers, riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, and edgers. Conduct basic maintenance, such as checking oil levels, sharpening blades, and troubleshooting minor equipment issues to ensure optimal performance. </li><li>Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols when operating machinery and working in public spaces. Wear protective gear and adhere to established safety guidelines at all times. </li><li>Communication: Effectively communicate with supervisors and team members, reporting any equipment malfunctions or areas requiring additional attention. </li><li>Time Management: Prioritize and complete mowing and maintenance tasks in a timely manner, ensuring that work is finished according to schedule. </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience, Licensing</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education & Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>High School diploma or GED equivalent (or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills).</p> </li><li> <p>At least six months of maintenance experience or experience in a related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensing:</p> </li><li> <p>A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of basic landscaping practices, including trimming, edging, and lawn care. </li><li>Experience operating a variety of mowing and landscaping equipment. </li><li>Ability to conduct basic equipment maintenance and minor repairs. </li><li>Ability to work efficiently in both team and independent settings while following all safety protocols. </li><li>Excellent time management and organizational skills. </li></ul>
