<p>Job Title</p> <p>EHS Specialist</p> <p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist is responsible for providing direction and support for all EH&S activities, including implementation, monitoring, and review of C&W compliance/performance.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Create and lead the deployment of C&W's EH&S programs across the US, in alignment with Client expectations </li><li>Effectively communicate C&W's safety culture and operating philosophies </li><li>Ability to travel on short notice and alter work schedule to accommodate client needs (including weekends and Holidays)Assist in the identification of possible losses; evaluate the risk in such loss exposure; develop and implement a plan to correct or prevent a loss; and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness </li><li>Perform Dedicated Safety responsibilities as outlined in Toyota Construction Safety Requirements (TCSR) </li><li>Maintain and update as needed SOP's, WIS's, JP's for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day to day training </li><li>Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected. </li><li>Create custom training content based on CWS and Client program requirements </li><li>Perform Weekly Toolbox Training </li><li>Review all JSA's submitted in a timely manner, and provide coaching to Business Partners and employees, as needed </li><li>Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements </li><li>Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, report and manage the corrective actions </li><li>Support Workers Compensation (WC) claims tracking, investigation, and management process </li><li>Liaise with WC Program Manager and benefits group on all aspects of injury management and rehabilitation </li><li>Support compliance with all EH&S record keeping requirements, including corporate and regulatory compliance/program documentation, e.g., auditing, training, medical, and OSHA records </li><li>Participate in site inspections and third-party audits to assure/verify regional compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations </li><li>Develop, maintain, and ensure the online safety training platform meets industry standards and OSHA requirements </li><li>Review Policies & Procedures process specific to EH&S, as well as support sites in preparation of their manuals for Emergency Procedures </li><li>Develop standards and processes related to common environmental issues in commercial buildings such as asbestos, fuel oil storage tank management, indoor air quality, mold remediation and water intrusion </li></ul> <p>KEY COMPETENCIES</p> <ol> <li> <p>Communication Proficiency (oral and written)</p> </li><li> <p>Negotiation Skills</p> </li><li> <p>Organization Skills</p> </li><li> <p>Time Management Skills</p> </li><li> <p>Problem Solving/Analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Initiative</p> </li></ol> <p>IMPORTANT EDUCATION</p> <ul> <li>BA/BS in Safety, Engineering or related sciences preferred </li></ul> <p>IMPORTANT EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>5+ years' experience in Environmental Health and Safety </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Safety Certification (CSP or CIH) preferred </li><li>Demonstrable success in Systems Management across multiple accounts/sites </li><li>Subject Matter Expertise in EHS and relevant US Standards </li><li>Well versed in OH&S legislation and regulation </li><li>Well-developed research and report writing skills </li><li>Sound Investigative and Auditing skills supported by formal training </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>This job operates in varying environments, including indoors and outdoors, inclement weather, extreme temperatures, loud noises, and industrial odors.
