The role provides comprehensive oversight of the Greek Community (20+ chapters), emphasizing values-based leadership, academic excellence, inclusive community building, and lifelong connection. Through intentional advising, program development, assessment, and strategic partnerships, the position supports organizational success while promoting accountability, risk management, and alignment with organization expectations.</p> <p>Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Engagement, the Associate Director serves on the Student Engagement Leadership Team and provides strategic oversight for involvement initiatives that align with institutional priorities, Universities of Wisconsin policies, and applicable state and federal regulations. The role emphasizes inclusive excellence, student learning, and a strong sense of belonging by fostering a healthy and high-performing student engagement experience. This includes advancing recruitment and retention practices, supporting leadership roles and opportunities, and accountability processes, and promoting harm reduction, community standards, and member well-being. The Associate Director cultivates collaborative relationships with advisors, alumni, national headquarters staff, and campus partners to strengthen the overall student experience and ensure a positive and impactful presence within the campus and surrounding community.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Greek Community Leadership & Strategic Initiatives</p> <ul> <li> <p>Establish and advance a comprehensive strategic vision for the Greek Community centered on student success, belonging, leadership development, and accountability.</p> </li><li> <p>Align Greek Community initiatives with institutional priorities, Council for Advancement Standards in Higher Education (CAS), and national best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead long-term planning efforts that strengthen community relevance, sustainability, and growth across all councils.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide direct advising to one or more of the four governing councils.</p> </li><li> <p>Champion a values-based Greek experience that emphasizes scholarship, service, leadership, and ethical conduct.</p> </li><li> <p>Expand and support inclusive membership practices, enhancing recruitment, retention, and access for diverse student populations.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with campus and national partners to support chapter development, expansion, and organizational success.</p> </li><li> <p>Strengthen advisor engagement by developing structured onboarding, training, and on-going support initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote Greek Community through intentional storytelling, signature events, and campus partnerships.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize assessment data and community feedback to inform strategic priorities, resource allocation, and continuous improvement efforts.</p> </li></ul> <p>Student Organizations & Strategic Initiatives</p> <ul> <li> <p>Establish and advance a strategic vision for recognized student organizations that promotes student engagement, leadership development, and a strong sense of belonging.</p> </li><li> <p>Align student organization initiatives with institutional priorities, CAS standards, and best practices in Student Affairs.</p> </li><li> <p>Expand access and reduce barriers to involvement by supporting inclusive practices in organization development, recruitment, and participation.</p> </li><li> <p>Position student organizations as central contributors to co-curricular learning, and student success.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and enhance systems that support organization registration, training, funding, and ongoing advising.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide advising frameworks and resources that enhance organizational continuity, advisor engagement, and leadership transitions.</p> </li></ul> <p>Organizational Support</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide operational guidance on policies, risk management, event planning, and financial practices to support organizational success.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee budgets for Segregated University Fee (SUF)-funded recognized student organizations, ensuring compliance and responsible stewardship.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to Student Engagement financial processes including resource allocation, forecasting, and fiscal monitoring.</p> </li><li> <p>In partnership with Marketing & Creative Strategies, develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to increase visibility and engagement across campus and the community.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare requested data and annual reports that contribute to unit, divisional, and institutional assessment initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in implementing Student Engagement initiatives related to unit strategic plan and program development.</p> </li><li> <p>Direct supervision of Program Specialist for Greek Community and Program Specialist for Recognized Student Organizations</p> </li><li> <p>Indirect supervisor of the Program Specialist for Organization Support, Graduate Assistant(s), graduate practicum assistants, and/or student employees</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in evening and weekend responsibilities as required to support student engagement activities</p> </li></ul> <p>CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT:</p> <p>University of Wisconsin-Whitewater does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
