<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Senior Accounting Analyst will be responsible for supporting firm-wide financial reporting requirements by preparing and analyzing financial information and processes.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Ensures the application of proper accounting policies and processes and leads the development of best practices </li><li>Interprets and applies corporate financial policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) </li><li>Analyzes financial data and serves as a point person for BDO's key subsidiaries </li><li>Assists in the coordination and execution of annual external audits </li><li>Supports system implementations within our reporting software as well as our transactional systems </li><li>Supports purchase accounting activities for M&A transactions </li><li>Assists in preparation of monthly account reconciliations and journal entries, including the resolution of any issues identified </li><li>Reviews, documents and assists in the implementation of accounting policies, process improvements and internal control procedures </li><li>Assists in the analysis of financial lending requirements and covenants </li><li>Serves as a resource for other departments regarding financial reporting and analysis </li><li>Partners with BDO's Financial Planning and Analysis team to streamline and improve the monthly financial reporting cycle/process </li><li>Partners with Financial Systems Support (FSS) to leverage technology and drive continuous improvement within the Firm's financial system landscape </li><li>Prepares ad hoc reports and analysis, as needed </li><li>Other duties, as required </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree, required; with a focus in Accounting or Finance, preferred </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Three (3) or more years of general accounting experience, required </li><li>Prior experience working within a professional services firm such as accounting, financial services, business advisory and/or banking industries, preferred </li></ul> <p>License/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>CPA, preferred </li></ul> <p>Software:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, required </li><li>Prior experience using PeopleSoft Financials, preferred </li><li>Prior experience using Hyperion, preferred </li><li>Prior experience using fixed asset systems, preferred </li></ul> <p>Language:</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Displays superior verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Capable of working and communicating effectively with professionals at all levels </li><li>Able to work in a deadline-drive environment and handle multiple projects / tasks with an attention to detail </li><li>Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment </li><li>Strong data entry skills </li><li>Possesses superior customer service skills </li><li>Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of information </li><li>Demonstrates a basic understanding of the accounting processes </li></ul> <p>Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.</p> <p>National Range: $80,000 - $85,000 Maryland Range: $80,000 - $85,000</p> <p>NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $80,000 - $85,000</p>
