<p>Meritus Health as an opening for an MRI Technologist with In-Patient Imaging</p> <p>This is a flex staff position for all shifts to include weekends as needed.</p> <p>Performs a variety of MRI tests for patients of all ages. Applies principles, theories and techniques of magnetic resonance scanning to provide reliable test results. Ability to work with patients of all age groups (neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric) MRI techs must be able to demonstrate knowledge of a variety of diagnostic imaging and therapeutic equipment, including set-up, utilization, troubleshooting and proper care of equipment, assemble all relevant patient data including but not limited to clinical history, identify, assess and resolve problems for overall process improvement, prepare room and equipment and review all clinical requisitions and verify orders..</p> <p>Education - Associates Degree in Radiography or its equivalent.</p> <p>Experience - N/A</p> <p>Licensure/Certification - ARRT in Radiology, preparing for ARRT certification in MRI. Note: must become ARRT MRI certified within two (2) years of hire into this position. Licensed in Maryland as a Radiographer. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy.</p> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, radiographic techniques, and radiation protection concepts and techniques. Knowledge of MRI physics. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to determine machine parameters to achieve optimum MRI images. Ability to examine MRI images for the purpose of evaluation techniques, positions, and other related qualities. Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment with patients during radiographic or MRI procedures. Ability to position patient and adjust equipment to produce desired or optimum images of desired anatomy. Skill in safe and efficient operation of MRI equipment. Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary to develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date. Veni-puncture.
